Framing is what decides whether the finish is possible
Framing is the stage nobody sees and everything else depends on. A wall that is out of plumb shows up later as a door that will not sit square. A header sized by guesswork shows up as a sagging opening. A floor system that flexes shows up as cracked tile two years after the tile went down.
Most residential framing we do is alteration rather than new build: taking out a wall to open a kitchen into a living room, forming a new opening, building out a bathroom that is changing shape, adding blocking where a vanity or a grab rail is going to need it. That work is governed by what the wall is carrying, which is the first thing an estimate has to establish.
Because framing sits in-house alongside drywall, taping and painting, a structural change does not become a scheduling problem. The crew that opens the wall is the crew that closes it, boards it, tapes it and paints it, so there is no window where the house is open and nobody is booked.
